Where I Went Wednesday: Baltimore

Global Chem conference for my "day" job brought me to Baltimore last week.  I've never seen so many pocket protectors and socially awkward people in one room at the same time in my life.  500 or 600 representatives from chemical companies, law firms, legislators, and government agency representatives… it was every bit as exciting as you're picturing.

But, to spice the trip up a little, I convinced a friend to drive the 2-ish hours from my old stompin' grounds in PA to join me for a girls night over the weekend.  We are basically super lame, so our GNO turned into a burger at an Irish Pub, then a (delicious) Bethlehem Brewworks growler of beer in our jammies back at the hotel.  An early night meant we had plenty of energy to get out and explore the sights the next morning.

I'll be honest, when I think of Baltimore, I'm usually picturing slums and crime… but the Inner Harbor is pretty cool.  Food, drinks, good shopping, and tourist stuff all within walking distance.  Topping my list of Inner Harbor attractions were the old ships!  I just finished a WWII book, so the timing of my visit was spot on.  I did some iPhone-tography here- mostly because I didn't realize when we set out on our walk that there would be quite so many photo ops!  Stupid me!

And a selfie with one of my best girlfriends to finish it off!
